Ergyng is the British name for our land  -  later Anglicised by the English to "Ercenfeld", "Ercenfield" and subsequently "Archenfield". Our borders are entirely natural. Our Western border, from north to south, is essentially the Black Mountains ridge and River Monnow (Afon Mynwy) valley, from Hay-on-Wye to Aber Mynwy (Monmouth) . Our Eastern boundary is basically the River Wye, converging again at  Monmouth. The Forest of Dean is also basically ours, from Monmouth to the sea.
